Victoria Woods, State Policy and End Use Intern
Victoria is a New York City native who has spent most of her life in Lower Manhattan. After witnessing the havoc that Hurricane Sandy wrecked upon her home city, she became invested in the ways in which disasters, “natural” and otherwise, affect urban and rural citizens alike. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Reed College, where she authored a thesis, titled “In the Shadows of the Manhattan Project: A Critical Analysis of Superfund’s Legacy” under the supervision of Dr. Sofia Vera. During her time in Portland, Victoria became deeply invested in issues relating to food insecurity: she spent her weekends volunteering at the Reed College Community Pantry and her weekdays working as a Program Coordinator for the Northeast Emergency Food Program in Northeast Portland.
